Unlimited Flow of Booze @ Eyes’ Happy Hour

Hong Kong Ham blogged about the all-you-can-drink buffet at the Miramar Hotel the other day and it just happened to be a bar/lounge I frequent quite a bit since I live over on Kowloon side.  Think I’ll share some more details about this place.

“Eyes” is the name of the bar/lounge on the ground level of Miramar Hotel, conveniently located in TST.  Happy hour starts at 5:00pm and ends at 9:00pm, band (duo starts 6:30pm, full band after 9:00pm) plays 6:30pm from Monday to Saturday.  The package price for happy hour on Saturday to Thursday is HK$118+10% and $138 on Fridays.  For that, you can enjoy UNLIMITED FLOW of pouring Brands of Gin, Whisky, Vodka, soft drinks, beer, house white / red wine and mocktail, plus a daily changing snack platter.  If that’s not enough, they got a package extension for another 2 hours for $60 extra.  that means for under $200, you can drink yourself to death for a whole six hours.  The only downside is that you cannot smoke inside the premise (people smoke at the back alley near the man’s joint).  So next time you in the neighbourhood and in need of some heavy duty drinking, you know where to hit.

Paris Going to Jail

 192l_hilton_paris_050407.jpg

[6 May] The 26-year-old heiress appeared shocked as she was sentenced to a 45-day stint behind bars Friday for driving with a suspended license and other probation violations.

The hotel-chain namesake will call the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California, her temporary home, starting June 5. There will be no house-arrest options, no monitoring-bracelet breaks—she will do 45 days straight, per the judge…..click here for E! news report.

[Updated: 8 May] This from Reuters.  “She’s going to be assigned a two-person cell, and most likely have another inmate in the cell with her,” Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said on Monday, adding Hilton, like all inmates, would be confined to her quarters 23 hours a day.

She will be allowed out of her cell once a day for an hour to shower, stretch her legs, use the telephone or watch television in a jailhouse day room, he said.

The cell — 8 feet wide by 12 feet deep, with an 8-foot (2.4 meter) ceiling — contains “two bunks, a table, a sink, a toilet and a sliver of a window.” Hilton’s cellmate, if she gets one, will be another individual serving time for a serious driving infraction or other nonviolent offense, he said.

While the facility houses roughly 2,200 women, Hilton will be segregated from the general population in a “special-needs” unit designed for such high-profile prisoners as celebrities, former police officers and public officials, Whitmore said.

Hilton will get three meals a day, all taken in her cell, but like the jail’s furnishings, nothing fancy — cereal or yogurt with fruit for breakfast, a sandwich or hamburger for lunch, and a hot meal such as chicken for dinner.

“She’ll be given the same food that is served to every inmate in the jail, he said.

The jail’s schedule also will make it hard for Hilton to keep the late hours she is accustomed to. Breakfast is served between 6 and 7:30 a.m., and lights are turned out at 10 p.m. ………here for full article.
