Hi All. I got the Omnia i900 in Hong Kong – problem is I cant get the settings for 3G from 3 Hong Kong. They told me the model is not yet supported in Hong Kong. Anybody out there having the same problem ? Or have you managed to get the 3G service working ? Please let me know what you did.
Thanks
JK888
even i have the same problem
GOT GPRS FIXED BY FIDDLING AROUND AND NOW THE PHONE LOOKS GREAT
ENJOYING IT
Its actually possible to get 3G working if you have the settings. “Official” phones have these settings already in the phone, imports do not have the carrier’s 3G information.
If you have a friend with 3G, you can check their data settings and it might work that way.

I live in Hong Kong and have waited for the launch of omnia for what seemed to be ages. However, now that it finally came out… wudda heck!? they only got the chinese version!!! im extremely disappointed!! anybody know if the eng version gonna be released in hk?? =S
This is still an issue. I am trying to find an English version i908 but it would seem only Chinese versions available in HK. Can anyone direct me to where I can find one?
Allan, what you need is an import version. A few shops in Wanchai or in Mongkok carries them. They are a bit cheaper, round $4,880. You can try tomato mobile at Sincere Podium, look for Frankie, his number is 2393 9698. Address:Shop F52 1/F Comm. Podium of Sincere Hse.No.83 Argyle Street, Mongkok,Kowloon,H.K.
Hope this helps.
You can buy Chinese version in Hong Kong with Hong Kong warranty and then get the guy who you bought from Flash Singaporean English firmware. I’m already using i908 with HK Warranty.
Just upgraded firmware but lost settings of 3G, anyone out there please tell me what are the settings.
I have the same issue- I want to buy Omnia but right now its only in Chinese version. I was thinking of flashing english firmware, but not too sure whether this would void HK warranty. Anyone have any idea? Wanted to buy the chinese version with subscription with Three and flash it with SG firmware.
I just bought the i 900 English and same problem with firmware cannot connect to internet. ANyone who knows wher eto get the update and also if the update works.
Thanks for your help
Mike
Hi there if you want an English version I have a new phone with the English version flashed on. Please let me know dsbishop@gmx.de. Then you can take a look.
Can anyone tell me where i can get a official Samsung omnia i900 and for what price? Thanks, Vincent
For the official ones, the Samsung i908 Omnia (Different model no. in HK) goes for HK$4,680 @ Broadway and Master OA, can negotiate a bit more if paid full in cash. As for the imported ones, prices are as low as HK$3,468 over at http://www.cheaphk.com (Chinese site).
Hope this helps.
so know a place not a web store where u could buy a Samsung i900(i900 not i908) or a i908 with English???
Thanks, your answer is appreciated,
Vincent
Hi guys. I’m planning on getting the Samsung Omnia I900. Where in Hong Kong can I buy these phones at a cheaper price tag?
Apart those cheap imports selling online as per my previous comment, the cheapest is from the retail chain call “Wilson Telecom”, around HK$4,480 but think you can bargain it down a bit.
I bought an i908 Chinese version had it changed to English version, but the GPRS or HSDPA does not work. Any solution for it? Thanks.
@Juan, did the GPRS or HSDPA work prior changing to the English ROM? is the Chinese version a locked version, and is it from a network provider, i.e. PCCW, 3HK, CSL1010? because if so, it might be locked.
Google for a online English manual and see if you can get the settings to work, if not, take a trip down to Sincere Podium and ask around, some shops can help jailbreak locked phones.
Thanks for the tip. I’ll check this retail chain when I get there. I saw in alibaba that one guy is selling this model for just USD230/phone
Thanks for the tip, I will try it.
Hi All,
