[26 November] Found a great unboxing and first impression article on the Nokia N810 Tablet over at ARS Technica with some nice pics. Link here. The author’s verdict on it -
“Overall, I think that the N810 is a relatively impressive device, but the mediocrity of the built-in keyboard and the limitations of the free GPS software detract from the value of the most significant changes between the N800 and the N810. The N810 is still a very good product, but not enough to justify the $450 price tag when the N800 can be purchased for under $250. Potential N810 buyers are probably better off waiting. Those who regard the built-in GPS as a killer feature should also keep in mind that they will have to pay more for the full version of the WayFarer software in order to really make full use of the N810’s GPS capabilities.”

Two new reviews came out this week on the Nokia N95 8GB. Both reviews indicated that the Nokia N95 8GB to be “the hottest thing in the mobile world right now” and “the best smartphone ever made”. I have to say with all the improvements made to the N95 8GB, I am impressed myself. My only query now is how well it works with my Outlook Exchange. As usual, I will update more along the way.
The N81 8GB version would not be available here in Hong Kong, but imported version is now available in Sintat for HK$5,680, together with the imported N95 8GB version (HK$6,750).
Following last week’s great video on the iPod Touch, ThoughtFix over at UltramobileGeek and TabletBlog had did it again, this time the iPod Touch vs. the Nokia N800, click here for the write-up.

[21 August] intomobile, all about symbian and jkOnTheRun covered the story on the new Nokia N95 with 8 gigabyte ram on their way for FCC clearance. According to all about symbian, “The N95 8GB specification is likely to be similar to that of the N95 classic: 3G with HSDPA support (2100MHZ), WiFi connectivity (including support for UPnP), a 5 megapixel digital camera, on board GPS (with support for A-GPS), and a 3.5mm audio jack for headphones, loudspeakers, headsets and TV-Out. The exception is the 8GB of memory; all the indications suggest this is internal flash memory in place of the microSD card slot.” (full article here)
Not sure whether this new edition have make any improvements on the battery life or not, hopefully they have done so now that they jack up the internal memory. Anticipated launch date is rumoured to be at launch event in London on the 29th August. (Bah, did some editing this morning, was buzzing after taking the sleeping pill last night, guess I couldn’t read anything straight from the screen, my bad. Again Mark, thanks for the heads up.)
[Updated: 13 September] Video review from all about symbian.com. According to the review, the battery capacity been increased by 25%, which is great as the old Nokia N95 tends to run out of juice fairly quickly. Also the screen size been increased from 2.6 inches to 2.8 inches and RAM been increased from 64MB to 128MB,
