M1NT Gallery Presents Ms. Gabrielle Pool
Cocktail Reception: Wednesday May 2, 7pm-9pm
M1NT Gallery, 108 Hollywood Road
RSVP, (852) 2261 1111, or email booking@M1NT.com.hk
M1NT Gallery takes great pleasure in introducing the extraordinary talent of Ms Gabrielle Pool who will be present at the opening.
Born on a farm in New Zealand in 1976 Gabrielle Pool began exhibiting at the age of 16. She has since exhibited in New Zealand, Japan, U.K, Bahamas and Australia, where she now resides.
A major art collector bought three of Gabrielle’s paintings from her October 2006 exhibition in London one day and a rare Monet the next – her works keep very good company.
In 2004 Gabrielle was one of the chosen few from around the world invited by the former President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela to collaborate in the International Unity Series – superimposing their own native “stamp” over Nelson Mandela’s own artworks.
In early 2005 Gabrielle lived and worked with the Hamer tribe of Winyarki Village in Southern Ethiopia under the guidance of National Geographic Field Producer, Stuart MacLeod. Gabrielle fully immersed herself in tribal life to explore the quintessence of African culture, and documenting her experience with paintings, often using the tribes body painting clays as pigment in her work. Gabrielle is currently the subject of a documentary commissioned by TVNZ following her journey as an artist, and her collaboration with Nelson Mandela in the International Unity Series.

What to expect from yet another Portable Multimedia Player (PMP) one would ask. Well, my dream PMP should have the following features –
5-inch wide-screen, 16-million-color TFT LCD with ultra-fine 800×480 (WVGA) resolution and touch-sensitive interface;
HSDPA modem, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless networking;
Windows CE Internet Explorer browser;
FM radio and recorder, voice recorder, built-in stereo speakers, and TV-out supporting component and composite connectors;
DVR functionality with video (MP4) recording from TV, VCR or camcorder;
up to13 hours of audio or 7 hours of video playback; and
40GB or 60GB hard disk.
Sounds too good to be true? well, that’s what the all new Cowan Q5 features, pretty impressive right? Coming out Q3 2007. Click here for the full read from Gizmodo.

If you noticed from the comment section of the same post, someone mentioned that the US version of the Dopod U1000, aka HTC Advantage, will run on WM6 whereas the European and Asian version will run on WM5. Bummer, hope they release a WM6 rom soon.
