Was at the Langham Place Short Films Screenings last night and they showcased three feature shorts, namely, the Club, the Spa and the Room and the most interesting part of it is that all three short films were shot with the iPhone. Check out the making of videos here and have a taste of what’s it all about.
The other highlight of the evening was when Sean Seah, Vice President – E-Business, Loyalty and Partner Marketing of Langham, announced the Langham Short Film Competition where the winner of the competition will be flown to London, stay at the awesome Langham London, be able to attend an exclusive networking breakfast with the heavy weights of Sundance Institute and other filmmakers, attend Sundance screenings and if lucky, have access to other Sundance panel events as well. So all budding filmmakers and videographers, this is definitely a competition that you want to look into.
More information on the competition and the three short films mentioned earlier after the jump…..

In grand “X-Files” manner, the film’s storyline is being kept under wraps. This much can be revealed: It is a stand-alone story in the tradition of some of the show’s most acclaimed and beloved episodes, and takes the complicated relationship between Fox Mulder (Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Anderson) in unexpected directions. Mulder continues his unshakable quest for the truth, and Scully, the passionate, ferociously intelligent physician, remains inextricably tied to Mulder’s pursuits. In theaters July 25.
DO you believe? that this is gonna be a hit? or a flop?

Hmm…we haven’t done this for quite some time, let’s hit it again. Answer will be posted Sunday.
“Let me give you a little inside information about God. God likes to watch. He’s a prankster. Think about it. He gives man instincts. He gives you this extraordinary gift, and then what does He do, I swear for His own amusement, His own private, cosmic gag reel, He sets the rules in opposition. It’s the goof of all time. Look — but don’t touch. Touch — but don’t taste. Taste — don’t swallow. Ahahaha. And while you’re jumpin’ from one foot to the next, what is He doing? He’s laughin’ His sick, f–kin’ ass off. He’s a tight-ass. He’s a sadist. He’s an absentee landlord. Worship that? Never.”
[Updated: 24] Answer is Devil’s Advocate.

People keep asking me whether there are any decent alternatives to the iPods and Zunes (there are quite a few anti-Apple and anti-Microsoft ppl out there, LOL) and yet with par performance. The answer is yes (only if you hate Sony too). The all new Sony Walkman A610 and 810 are two very nicely made walkmans (remember that plastic cassette player from back then), which are more user-friendly now in terms of the user-interface. It no longer uses their own SonicStage platform but followed the mainstream with the windows drag-and-drop via the exploer or the Windows Media Player. Both walkmans are available in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB capacities.
pocketables.net have two new reviews out on the Sony A610 an 810, links below -

Michael Caine was spotted using the Smasung Q1 in the above trailer, seems like there’s a lot of high-tech gadgets used in the movie, check out the trailer.

Yesterday we posted what we thought was the longest review we’ve seen ever on the Raon Digital Everun UMPC. Not. Today we bring you this whopping 19-page review on the Archos 605WiFi from Archos Lounge.net. Not only are there tons of pics but some videos on the key functions. It is a French site so the link is translated via Google.
- The 605 corrects considerable defects of the 604 WiFi.
- Much better photo viewer.
- The 605 is a very good video reader (for the most current formats) and improves from an audio point of view.
[22 June] The hymn goes like this:
“God is in his holy temple.
Earthly thoughts, be silent now.
While with reverence we assemble.
And before his presense bow.
He is with us now and ever
As we call upon his name
Aiding every good endeavor
Guiding upward, everyday”
As usual, answer will be posted on Sunday.
