Further to my post on 22 April 2011, still no news as to when the launch of iPad 2 in Hong Kong is gonna be. However, it seems almost imminent as some of the Universities are taking orders for the iPad 2 already with delivery dates on 15 May 2011. With some deduction here, we’re sitting in the two-weeks windows and given that Apple usually choose to launch a major product on a Friday, so the launch is either this Friday, 6 May or 13 May 2011.
Superhero games. In the gaming market today, superhero games with enough appeal and success could possibly mean the beginning of a new gaming franchise. There are the original ones where they seem to surprise you more and more, one example being Batman and the new Arkham Asylum installation is a good example. Then there are the superhero games based on movies and modern day projections of a classic hero, which has disappointed so far, just look at X-Men: Wolverine. Then there is the new generation of highly engaging hero simulations, and inFamous might as well be at the top of the list.
Got these two awesome gears for my arsenal two weeks ago and took them out shooting a few times, the result, ultra steady on my Sony A900 and even better with the Canon G10.
The reason I chose the Manfrotto 685B monopod over the others available in the market is that from all of the research I did, this one matches my need, i.e. being able to extend and retract at the fastest speed possible. My believe was further confirmed by the following two videos which I found on YouTube and Luminous Landscape. The YouTube video is a review of the monopod from Yuri Arcurs, one of the most successful stock photographer, check out how he utilizes his monopod in his daily shoots. Instead of going for a custom bracket like he does, I found the Manfrotto 322RC2 joystick head which allows for fast switching from landscape to portrait position via the joystick ballhead. As for the second video, it is a full video review of how the Manfrotto 685B works with the Canon G10. Check them out and enjoy.
If you uses a Tablet PC like me, you probably have heard of TEO (Tablet Enhancements for Outlook). Well, it’s free now on TabletPC Post and it runs on both Microsoft Outlook 2003 and 2007. Click here for the link and download it now for the ink experience with your Outlook. Not sure how long the offer stays good. Although the download page says version 2.0, you actually do get the latest version 3.1.

The guys over at Akihabaranews got the chance to review the alpha version of the Willcom D4 (Sharp WSO16SH) last week in Tokyo, Japan and it’s looking sweet. Running on Vista, the D4 doesn’t seem as sluggish as most of the other UMPCs in the video.
The D4 features a 1.33GHz Centrino Atom Z520 CPU and according to Akihabara, the D4 is one of the first UMPCs on the market using the new CPU; a 40GB HDD, 1GB RAM, a 5″ 1024×600 TFT touchscreen. The D4 measures 84x188x25.9mm and weigh 470g.
