Google Sync Beta for iPhone, WinMo and SyncML Phones is Out

The beta version of Google Sync for the iPhone and Windows Mobile phones as well as a contacts-only version for phones that support SyncML is launched by Google this week.

According to Google Mobile Blog, “Google Sync allows you to get your Gmail Contacts and Google Calendar events to your phone. Once you set up Sync on your phone, it will automatically begin synchronizing your address book and calendar in the background, over-the-air, so you can attend to other tasks. Sync uses push technology so any changes or additions to your calendar or contacts are reflected on your device in minutes. The connection is always on so you don’t have to manually sync your phone after Sync has been set up….

For devices that support the open SyncML protocol, Google Sync will allow for two-way contacts synchronization. If you’re a BlackBerry user, a version of Google Sync is already available.”

Sounds neat, who needs MobileMe now I wonder.

Yet another iPhone killer, this time it’s the Toshiba TG-01.  Powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 and with a 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, the screen real estate is a whopping 4.1″ WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) display. Listed at 9.9mm thick, this slick phone is definitely gonna be the thinnest touch-based WM phone. Check it out.

Gee, I’m loving it already, the GUI sure looks hot on Touch HD’s big screen.

One side note, the import version of the HTC Touch HD is around HK$6,200 (US$795) down at Sincere Podium.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 to be Carried by 3 Hong Kong

The above sourced from local forum.  Seems like 3HK will be carrying the Sony Ericsson exclusively.  Rumours said they will be offering the price of HK$3,980 for old customers, the catch of course is a 18-month contract.  For higher service plan, the charge of the phone will be as low as HK$2,980.  The early releases are mostly the ones with English ROM.  Call your 3HK sales to find out more.

Another alternative is to get it from the local chain stores like Broadway or Fortress, but their prices as high as HK$6K+, Crazy.
